Albino Dione Ratsnake

We believe we have hatched  A Worlds FIRST in any private collection, an Albino Dione Ratsnake. A male hatched on 24th June 2011. The very first Albino Dione was produced in captivity was by our good friend Segei from the Tula Exotorium in Russia.

We are hoping to incorporate the Albino gene into the Nigrita's with the hope of producing a  super clean white snake in the future.

We are really happy with the progress we are making producing Elaphe dione morphs and the future of them in the hobby.

Some of our notable achievements this year so far include: Super Reds, Nigrita & Albinos.

About Me

My name is Gidi van de Belt, I was born and still live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. From childhood I have always been interested in dinosaurs and reptiles in general. I originally thought that I might like to study herpetology when I left school, but when the time came  I decided to do something totally different. I now study applied physics at the delft university of technology in The Netherlands, with snakes being my main hobby.

I have been working with Elaphe dione for the last ten years, a species that intrigues and fascinates me. Together with other hobbyists we are creating a large group of Elaphe dione with many different localities and colour morphs. We made this decision to safe guard the future of Elaphe dione in captivity and also to try and determine the mode of inheritance of some of the morphs.

Apart from Elaphe dione, I am focusing on breeding some of the rarer Asian Ratsnake species, such as Maculophis bellus bellus and Elaphe davidi.

I want to thank you for visiting my site and I hope you enjoy looking at my collection and find the information contained within its pages interesting and useful.
